Gingham and Mint Skirt

What a wonderful Saturday. I always love spring. Flowers and the trees start coming back to life and blooming again BUT. 2 things I don’t like about spring:

  1. Pollen
I got bad allergies this year since the pollen level over here in Georgia is quite high. The temperature is already in mid the 80′s at times. I bet the scientists and politicians will revert back to the term “global warming” any day now. Remember not long ago, when the crazy winter struck half of the world? Global warming went out of style. Now it is  “climate change”  instead.
  2. Bird Poop
Since the weather has started getting hotter, at work I like to park underneath the trees so my car won’t get really hot and humid. Apparently birds love my silver color car. Everytime I get off from work and go to my car I always find out my car is being bombarded by bird poop.  It seems they hate me and decided to leave not just one but as many poops as possible. (I counted 10 the other day).
Those birds remind me of the sneaky laughing birds in the Windex commercials. Argghh!!

Despite of the pollen and bird bombardments, overall my life is wonderful. A friend of mind gave me some free frozen yogurt cards. Not just 1 but 4. My hubby and I get one big container, fill half container with his favorites flavor and the other half of mine. And we eat it in turn while walking to our car.

Free yoghurt vs. bird poop, what a contrast!

Red Skirt and Platform Pump

I Got this pair of shoes from PayLess. Love em love em love em. Believe it or not, this is the first pair of platform pumps I’ve ever bought. Never had a chunky pair of shoes before.

My mom always told me to wear classic pumps with skinny heels to balance my big calves. I tried platform pumps before, but since I have small feet I looked more like stilt walker in a circus…  For some reason this pair of shoes don’t look too bad on me, apparently since the platforms and the skinny heels balance my calves perfectly. Suddenly I feel really tall.

These platform pumps are not easy to walk on though. I’m wondering how those celebrities can walk with these kinds of shoes all the time. I wore high heel shoes since I was young and I got pretty bad calluses. I can’t walk too long with high heel shoes without getting too much pressure on the bottoms of my feet. Besides that, I don’t want to ruin my knees for fashion’s sake. In the long term, I don’t think wearing very high heeled shoes all the time is good for your knees.

My husband loves these shoes on me but he said he missed his old petite, shorty wife. I think he’s not used to seeing me taller (heheh).

Spring Outfit

Spring Outfit

The weather is getting warmer and before the temperature gets really hot and humid, I must hurry up and wear all of my winter clothes.

When you have big thighs (this is according to Stacy London from the TLC show “What Not To Wear”) you should not wear a pair of jeans that look like they have been scratched or ripped by a tiger. Because the design can emphasize your big thighs.
I want to disregard her advice because I like the wild look of tiger scratches on my thighs. The scratched look isn’t that bad, is it? It’s just a lil’ baby tiger scratch.

This pair of jeans used to look really good on me before I gained 20lbs. I think I’m in denial. Now they are little bit tight especially at my bottom (blame it on doing too many squats). Again by looking at these jeans on me,  I’m convinced more than ever that I DO need a pair of  jeans/pants with a real flare at the bottom to balance my thighs. I have found a pair and will post a photo in the future.

I got this cute Ann Taylor coat on eBay for $8. I don’t even know this coat style is still in or not. But who cares, right? As long as it looks good and feels good, go for it. I like the crispiness of pink and white on this outfit.

Since I don’t plan to grow any plants or flowers this year, this coat can be a good way to indulge my passion for flowers. Wish I could find another coat with bell peppers or tomatoes printed in it.

Orange and Green Combo

I was a few inches from throwing this tube dress away. Last summer I wore this Forever 21 green tube to our out west road trip.  It’s nice but it gave a bigger illusion in my shoulder area than I wanted. Not just that, it also squeezed the middle part of my body like a burger. Yet, the color was great.

I would like to say thanks to all the fashion bloggers out there who give me inspiration to follow their foot steps. Old clothes become new again. Improvisation.  I started digging through all of my old clothes and giving them life again.

Orange and Green Combo

I got this orange sweater  online at Victoria’s Secret. I bought it a few years back around the month of July. Yes, you are right! You know you make a good decision when you go against the flow. July is the hottest month of the year; when I saw this jacket I knew I MUST get it. It was 80% off.  When other people get dehydrated just looking at the jacket, that’s the best time for me to buy my winter clothes. It’s not just they are a lot cheaper but also nobody wants to touch it (heheh). This scenario also happens with summer clothes in the winter.

The Leopard pump also bought at Victoria’s Secret. I combined several coupons, using my stingy tactic and I got this pair of shoes only for $12. Pat! pat! pat! on my back. I’m so proud of you Suzana-

The necklace was given to me by my dearest Indian co-worker when she visited India last year. She also gave me saree-like skirt and I can’t wait to wear it.

Am I missing something here? Okay, I got the handbag at goodwill. I like it because it’s different. It looks small in the pic but can accommodate a lot of stuff including plates (heheh). See it’s a multifunction handbag. You can also use it as a place mat.

White Pants and Cargo Jacket

If you see, I rarely post a picture of me wearing long pants. I wear long pants all the time to work but for some reason in the photo those pants don’t look good on me.

I’m still in searching for the right pants that suit my body shape. My biggest problem is my thighs and hips. I need to find the right pants which hide and flatter them at the same time.

I found these white pants during my thrifty hunt last year. The cut of the pants is boot cut but it’s not enough flare to create slimmer longer legs. I don’t really like these pants that much. If I wear the wrong top it will create a big bamboo effect :) on me. You know what I mean, it’s just straight from top to bottom. But when I paired them with this tunic, the pants look a lot better on me. I tried a few tops to compensate the look but this tunic and jacket give the best performance.

Now my question is,  How Do I look?
