MakeUp Application Tips

Applying make-up should not be difficult. It should be a regime that accents your beauty internally, by making you feel good about yourself and externally, by making you look terrific. First of all, start with a clean face. You will need several tools to make your make-up look it’s best. Brushes are very important so be sure to invest in some good quality tools.
Colors:
Next, you will need to apply concealer to any blemishes or under-eye circles that you may have. You can use a shade lighter than you skin-tone. When applying concealer to the undereye area, pat gently into the skin and do not rub. Using your finger, pat the concealer into the skin on the blemish areas also until you can no longer see the concealer.
Now it is time to set the previous applications by applying translucent face powder. Get out a big, fluffy powder brush and dip it into some loose facial powder. You can then apply the powder over your entire face.
A few extra tips in this area include apply foundation and powder to your eyelids and lips. This will help your make-up stay on longer.
How To Apply Eye Liner: Liquid eyeliner should only be used above the top lashes. It is best to use a pencil or eyeshadow under the lower lashes. For a more dramatic look, use a colored kohl pencil above and below lashes and follow with a black liquid liner on the top. It will make your lashes appear darker and will stay on all day. A dark eye-liner highlights the shape of your eyes and deepens the look. Softly line with eyeliner pencil, draw a thin line along lashes next to roots. For a dramatic look, lightly dot color along the lower lashes. For softness, line can be smudged with fingertip or Q-tip.
Brighten Up Your Eyes: Apply a neutral color eye shadow over the lid and up to the eyebrow. Next put a lighter shade on the brow bone and blend it in. Use a blending brush to sweep softly over the lid to blend the shadow in well. Next, apply the eye liner. The best way to line the eye be to use an eye pencil and draw a line underneath the lashes. Take a Q-tip or a liner pencil and blend the liner to get a smoky affect. Last of all, pay special attention to your eyelashes. Use an eyelash curler and curl the lashes for a few seconds. This will open up your eyes and make them look more beautiful than ever. At this point, apply a coat of mascara to the upper lashes and then the lower lashes. A second coat may be used but let the first coat dry first.
Blush: Smile, take a blush brush and apply a shade of blush to your cheeks. After this part, sweep the brush back into the hairline. This will make your face glow. This is the basics of make-up application. There are many colors and tools to experiment. Find your look and remember, applying make-up is an art which makes you look your best.
Start with the Lips: Use a lip pencil to outline the lips and make them stand out. The next step will be to apply lipstick with a lip brush. A lip brush makes the lipstick look professionally applied. If you put the lipstick on first, it will set the scene for applying your other make up. Soft, moist, kissable lips are easier to achieve than you would think, and once they’re in good condition, you’ll want to brighten them up with a little color. Inclined to dryness and chapping, lips bear the brunt of all sorts of abuse: seasonal changes, sun, wind, unconscious biting, contact with salty and acidic foods, and general neglect. There are many ways to protect your lips from environmental hazards. Lip balms and moisturizers with sun block are the keys to keeping your lips in great shape. Tinted lip balms and moisturizers are ideal since you can moisturize your lips and give them a little definition at the same time. For color and conditioning that will enhance your beautiful lips, try out our tips below.
Lasting Lip Color: Prime your lips with chapstick. It will smooth the surface of your lips and hold the color longer.
Fuller Lips: Apply moisturizer and color as usual and put a spot of lip gloss in the middle of your upper and lower lips to give a little extra shine and fullness.
Uneven Lip Color: If you have spots, birthmarks or uneven patches on your lips, moisturize your lips and dot foundation on your lips. Blot and apply lipstick as usual.
Bleeding Lip Color: Apply lipstick as usual. Dip the corner of a dry wedge-shaped sponge into loose powder and dab at the upper and lower corners of your mouth at the edge of your lip line. Brush away excess powder with the unused end of your sponge.
Speed Up Your Lip Care: Invest in products that can be used on more than one part of the face, such as the lips and the cheeks, which can be applied with the fingers. Use sheer and shiny or tinted lip balm instead of spending time applying lip liner and lipsticks.
Lip Pencil: Before you apply your lipstick, lip balm, or gloss, line your lips with a lip pencil and lightly fill in the entire area of you lip. Apply the gloss or lip color over the pencil and rub your lips together to blend. This will help your lip color wear evenly and prevent the end-of-the-day ring around your lips.
Cleansing The Skin: Cleansing the skin is on the top of my list for proper skin care. If you don’t keep the skin clear of make-up and debris (pollution) you can’t have a smooth looking complexion. Be sure to wash with a mild cleanser in the morning and in the evening. Before bedtime it is important to remove makeup from the day. In the morning you have residue from night cream or just oil and perspiration. Always follow with toner recommended for your skin type.
Colos Cleansing Milk gently cleanses, moisturizes and protects your skin due to its dermatologically tested fine emulsion. It acts deeply so that excess sebum, make-up and grime are removed which opens the pores. The milk works like a very mild abrasive mask against dead cells. It restores water balance and acidic pH by nourishing and protecting the skin.
The Cleansing Milk is formulated with a vitamin compound. Vitamin E neutralizes dangerous free radicals and Vitamin C stimulates collagen.

Also, our tips for make up product care and shelf life can be extremely useful in knowing when it’s time to toss that mascara and buy a new one. For example, be sure to discard cosmetics, even the really expensive ones, within the time frames that follow: Lipstick and Lip Liner, 1 year; Eye Shadow, Eye Liner, and Mascara, 3 months; Blush, 6 months; Nail Polish, 2 years if stored properly. After you’ve opened and used your make up, it’s exposed to the air and all sorts of pollutants that gather on your face and hands.
